About this deal

The difference between the Elk pro and the Regency pro tips is the feel. The Elks felt a lot “harder” than the Regency, but they did grip the cue ball well and chalking with Taom gold soft was simple enough as they gave a nice even coating of the new chalk. According to the spiel, Elk pros also work well with the traditional Triangle chalk as well. We did an initial test using an old piece of Triangle chalk and found that to be the case. However, SnookerZone’s chalk of choice is Taom gold soft. As promised, we’ve also played with it using Taom gold soft chalk, and we found out of the three chalks used, Taom is the better chalk for this type of “extra hard” tip. We found there was less need to chalk with the Taom, strangely enough. The Master chalk came second in holding well on the tip. Century Pro Snooker Cue Tips ensure that when you change to one of these tips you get maximum play-ability, consistency or hardness and a great grip on every shot. When you need to change a tip you can relax in with confidence as you just need to choose the same grade again and you get the same characteristics as the last.

While still relatively expensive tips, they tend to be lower cost than Century Pros and come in differing hardness grades. Many snooker cue tips today are available in a variety of grades; typically, soft, medium and hard. However, within each of these categories it is common for tip characteristics to vary greatly, which inevitably leads to them all playing differently. In other words, buying the same grade does not ensure the same playing experience. It’s very well constructed, easy to use and works the tip perfectly. The tip shaper comes in its own little pouch, to keep it well protected and prevents any scratches on your cue, while in your case. I have fitted a lot of tips for other players over the past five months and the shaper makes edging and shaping, easy. Plus, it does not show any signs of wear and tear, due to it’s robust construction? Century Cues have produced another quality product. Here’s a few other common questions we are asked about snooker cue tips. Which snooker cue tip is best? Choosing the best snooker cue tips isn’t always an easy task. It’s often a case of trial and error but we hope this guide has helped point you in the right direction. G2 Century Pro Snooker Cue Tips – Snooker Crazy is please to announce the arrival of Century Pro Snooker Cue Tips to our range of snooker cue tips. Therefore, you need to have a perfectly accurate cueing action to avoid this, something even some professionals struggle with! When you last bought a new snooker cue, there’s a decent chance the tip on it was an Elk Master. Well-known in the game, many cue makers choose to add Elk Master (or just ‘Elks’ as they’re often referred to) tips to their cues.

Customers please note: The white layer of the cue tip is to show you that the tip is at the lowest wear point and getting ready to change. However, we tried and used both Russian Magic chalk and Master chalk and found that Master held on a G5 slightly better than Russian Magic (surprisingly). 2018 World Champion Mark Williams personally requested a G5 to suit his game… Following on from R/D we have carried out with The University Of Sheffield. We have discovered that applying too much chalk reduces friction. So we advise to only apply very light amounts to your tip every two to three shots to gain maximum cue ball grip as well as keeping the table clean.

Century Pro manufacture four main grades of cue tips. They are the G1 (soft), G2 (medium), G3 (medium hard) and G4 (hard). There is additionally a custom G5 super hard tip. The usage of these tips depends on the preference of the individual as each of them have their pros and cons based on the kind of shot you are playing. When you play with a G5 you will know where that extra hardness comes from, as it is solid and sturdy when striking the cue ball. A lovely sound on impact! UPDATE: We’ve been playing with the G5 for at least three weekends now, and, the tip has held its shape well. Ronnie O’Sullivan has said before that he uses Elk Master cue tips, the same brand that we recommend as the best snooker cue tip.

CC Tip Protector

The best snooker cue tip for you will depend on a number of factors, not least your budget, style of play, and the level you’re competing at.

We found that with other harder tips, the chalk takes longer for it to grip and it’s the same with the G5.

He did this using the same G5 over a year long period; it is difficult to argue with these results. There are now more than ten professionals using the G5 including Shaun Murphy and Stephen Maguire. We have now decided to make this tip available for everyone to use, though they will be in very limited quantities made per year. I have heard praises being sung about the Century Pro cue tips . They come highly recommended by the likes of amateur players to the pros. I decided to give one of these tips a try to see what all the buzz was about. I also wanted to find the disadvantages so that our readers can make a truly informed decision.
