Compiled by combining worldwide online streaming and viewing figures, Fleur reveals the Eurovision entries watched and listened to in their millions. We’ve had such a great response so far, from visitors who are eager to hear any Eurovision updates or news they can get. Honestly, we’re thrilled that there’s so much anticipation. St George’s Hall is the perfect place for big public banners like these. This year's Eurovision Song Contest promises to be unlike any other for audiences in the UK with an array of captivating content set to air right across the BBC. In addition to live commentary there are a selection of specials already available exclusively on BBC Sounds as part of the Celebrating Eurovision season. Martin Green CBE, Managing Director, Eurovision Song Contest 2023, BBC says: "The 2023 Eurovision Song Contest will be a truly special event and the creative look is a big part of creating that magic. This year’s identity sums up perfectly the amazing partnerships across the Contest and more importantly the power of music to bring people together across the world."

The typeface used is called ‘Penny Lane’, inspired by the twentieth-century cast-iron signs displaying Liverpool street names and a nod to the city’s rich musical heritage. On Friday 24 November a small number of premium tote bags, lightweight shoppers, and two types of small multi-purpose bags will go on sale online only, with all proceeds from the sales going to BBC Children In Need funded projects supporting children and young people in Liverpool. The Semi-Final Allocation Draw and Host City Insignia will take place on 31 January at 7 pm (GMT) at St George’s Hall. The hosts - British television presenter AJ Odudu and TV personality Rylan - will receive help from pupils of a local Liverpool school and Ukrainians in the city, who have come to the country due to the ongoing conflict. Junior Eurovision 2022 UK representative Freya Skye will be reporting for Newsround from Liverpool during Eurovision week. She will also be live in the Blue Peter studio on the 12th May looking ahead to the Grand Final and giving her predictions. Join Barra on Saturday 13 May from 5pm-6pm for some music, craic and the ultimate warm-up for this year’s final. BBC Radio ScotlandWinning Eurovision then was a chance not only to celebrate, but to show a different side of Ireland. Hosting the event in 1981, 1988, 1993, 1994, 1995 and 1997, the country was unified in a joyous way and given a chance to be truly, purely proud of their small nation. Scott says: “I can’t begin to describe how excited I am to be presenting the Grand Final of the Eurovision Song Contest on Radio 2. I’ve had the great pleasure of being involved with Eurovision in various ways over the years, from commentating alongside Graham Norton to singing karaoke with the contestants, but presenting from the Grand Final in Liverpool is the ultimate childhood dream come true. Rylan and I will be going all out so please come and join the party live on Radio 2!”

Between 2002 and 2023, the Host Broadcaster of the Eurovision Song Contest would select a slogan to accompany the Contest. For the 2024 Contest in Malmö it was decided that the Liverpool 2023 slogan United By Music would remain the permanent slogan for the Eurovision Song Contest. So, we’re incredibly excited to reveal this new visual identity and logo, which aligns greatly with what St George’s Hall has historically always done – bring people together to celebrate our city’s most memorable moments.

In Liverpool, the iconic St George’s Hall and the Liverpool sign at Liverpool ONE will be dressed in the brand this week before it’s rolled out wider across the city in April. Comedian Jason Manford and singer-songwriter Chelcee Grimes present Eurovision Calling: Jason and Chelcee’s Ultimate Guide. This entertainment programme will see the pair explore why the Eurovision Song Contest is the greatest show on Earth. Using a mix of fascinating archive footage and revealing interviews with fans, experts and competitors, this one hour film will delve into the story of how the Contest has become the world’s largest live music event, creating global superstars and leaving an impact on the lives of many. The final interval act The Liverpool Songbook, is a celebration of the host city’s incredible contribution to the world of pop music. The BBC have brought together six iconic past Eurovision acts – Israel's Netta, Italy's Mahmood, Iceland's Daði Freyr, Duncan Laurence from the Netherlands, Sweden's Cornelia Jakobs and Liverpool's very own Sonia, celebrating 30 years since she came second at Eurovision in 1993. The 2023 contest will be the first contest since 1979 in which the winning nation was unable to host the following contest. It is the sixth occasion overall on which a different country has hosted after the original host nation was unable to, following the Netherlands in 1960, France in 1963, Monaco in 1972, Luxembourg in 1974, Israel in 1980 and Ukraine in 2023.
