If you are on the hunt for a deep-dish pan, then the Chef Pomodoro Aluminum Detroit Style Pizza Pan won’t disappoint. This heavy-duty kitchenware is deep and large, which makes it perfect for making Detroit-style pies. Preheat the oven to 475ºF. If you do not have a Detroit-style pizza pan, place a Baking Steel or pizza stone in the oven while it preheats. I believe that Detroit Style Pizza is inspired by Sicilian pizza and Chicago pizza. It’s a bit of a cross between the two, I would say. Sauce: I love a vodka sauce on pizza, such as this one or this one. This is my favorite fresh tomato sauce recipe. (I read above that you don’t like to do it that way, and instead add some sauce first. Did I read that right?)
