Description

The brandy is distilled from high-quality wines, specifically, Airen and Palomino grapes, and the distillation process is carried out in copper stills. After distillation, the brandy is aged in American oak barrels that have previously held sherry, imparting distinctive notes to the final product. Brandy and cognac are truly a connoisseur's choice when it comes to distilled spirits. Their smooth, warming character makes them excellent for sipping after meals, while VSOP (very superior old pale) is best served as an apéritif. Or you can give a proper end to your dinner with a glass of calvados. Sweet and fruity, this apple brandy pairs well with rich desserts like chocolate cake and tiramisu.

Carlos I Brandy is produced using the traditional solera system, a method used for sherry that involves a complex process of fractional blending. The brandy is aged in a series of barrels, with younger brandies being gradually blended with older ones over time. This process ensures consistency and continuous quality, allowing the brandy to develop a depth of character that would be impossible through simple ageing.

Carlos I Brandy is celebrated for its rich, complex flavour profile. It boasts a deep amber colour and offers a harmonious blend of aromas and tastes. On the nose, it typically presents a bouquet of vanilla, caramel, and oak alongside notes of dried fruits and a hint of spicy tobacco. The palate is greeted with a velvety texture, encompassing flavours of roasted nuts, cinnamon, and dark chocolate, culminating in a long, elegant finish.

The Jerez region, or "Sherry Triangle," located in Andalusia in southern Spain, provides the perfect climatic conditions for ageing brandy. Produced by Pedro Domecq, this is a 38% alcohol grape Brandy that has been aged in a solera system, best known as the maturation system used for Sherry wines . The range includes the iconic Carlos I Solera Gran Reserva, Carlos I Imperial XO, Carlos I Amontillado, Carlos I Pedro Ximénez and super premium Carlos I 1520.
